We are language and friendship
. These two concepts, which cover the inexhaustible territory of human events, configuring these two primary forms of communication, can hardly be developed without personal memory, without collective memory. technologyify
Therefore, cultivation,
almost a cult of memory, is a vital necessity. Each present has been conditioned,
oriented, and determined for better or worse by all that we were. Knowing this
is a valuable exercise in rethinking ourselves. The pages of this book, without
explicit intention, are a tribute to this personal and collective memory: a
life transmitted by the desire to continue living in it.
As president of the Colegio Mayor Chaminade Foundation
, I must present a book that falls into your hands on the occasion of an event of undeniable importance for this institution, for example, for which it has existed for 50 years. And this task, which is a great honor for me, I carry out with great satisfaction and love for the institution. Readers will undoubtedly be on the losing side, techiesin
as they will have to excuse the modesty of my pen. In such a changing world, in constant development and development, in which what today "is" and "is" many times ceases to be tomorrow and is not worth it, alluding to a history of fifty years and, technologyford
above all, doing it with confidence a job well done The achievement of the
objectives that led to its making is undoubtedly laudable, and this should give
deserved satisfaction to all of us who have collaborated with the College.
Without false modesty, we can say that we are proud of the Chaminade residence
fifty years later. The creation of the Chaminade Residence Hall was an
excellent decision for Mary, who also decided to focus her educational work on
university students. And so, accepting the offer of the Complutense University,
which gave a piece of land for this purpose free of charge, she built the
faculty building on her own and opened its doors, although the final details
had not yet been agreed upon. At that time, few people thought that the College
would turn 50, which was a wonderful reality. I must especially emphasize and thank
the mark that the Marianists left on the College. The image of the Marianist
students themselves, who initially stayed at School to continue their studies
at the university and share this experience on equal terms with the rest of the
university students, even cleaning the premises a few weeks before its
inauguration, speaks of modesty. . and the call to ministry with which the
Marianists proposed the project.
Then, his gradual and restrained retirement
, which did not mean distance or disinterest, when the School acquired consistency and individuality, shows a lack of desire to occupy a central place, respect for the student's essence, and trust in them: people who decided to run the School, and schoolchildren who materialized it.
Fifty years of history have spawned many personal stories
, as have each of the approximately 4,500 schoolchildren who graduated from the School, who are the reason for its existence, and those who contributed to its activities through their stay at the School. And his efforts to achieve a multiple and magnificent coexistence gave him the character, face, and style of the Colegio Mayor Chaminade.
Because the university is what its students were and are. They give life and make visible the distinctive features of Chaminade, "Chami." Therefore, they are deeply and sincerely grateful for the hours they spent here, giving all their strength to create a coexistence full of values.
The pages that make up this magnificent book relate the exceptional personal experiences of many students and alumni (without more space) about their time at the School. After reading it,
which I refer to with the confidence that you will
enjoy the excellent quality of the lyrics, you will be able to know first-hand
what the Chaminade Residence Hall has become. These stories show that very
different feelings, tendencies, ideologies, and tastes can coexist under the
same roof in a climate of dialogue and mutual respect, exchange through words,
individuality, and community. The current management of the College has been
supervising it for an extended time. The most important thing about their
brilliant leadership at all levels is that they are, above all, excellent
educators by vocation. This allowed them to effectively assist many
schoolchildren passing through Chaminade in teaching, establishing sensitivity
to external events and encouraging schoolchildren to develop distinctive
features of the educational project.
